Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs)
Linwood TSA, in partnership with Ambitions and Wimborne Teaching School Alliances offers a bespoke training and development programme provision for NQTs from the start of each academic year. As National Teaching Schools we have become Appropriate Bodies to validate NQTs and have taken the opportunity to develop an exciting and novel package to support NQTs during their first year of teaching. This includes quality support for SEND provided by LTSA.
Your NQTs will benefit from the network of schools offered jointly by Linwood, Ambitions and Wimborne Teaching School alliances which include primary, secondary, infant and junior schools, with mainstream and special provision across the three authorities of Poole, Dorset and Bournemouth. Our aim is to support schools and academies in ensuring that their NQTs focus on quality teaching from the very start of their NQT year.
Our outstanding teachers and leaders, can help develop your NQTs' understanding of a range of classroom and whole school challenges, such as implementing the SEND Code of Practice which states that the responsibility for pupil progress, irrespective of ability, is with class teachers. NQTs can deepen their understanding of the importance of ensuring equality of opportunity and the use of attainment and achievement data to support planning and promote pupil progress.
In addition we have a bank of system leaders available to support your NQTs, including SLEs with a range of expertise.
To support your Class Mentors and NQT co-ordinators we have opportunities for coaching, and professional support.
We will ensure you have access to quality support throughout the NQT programme, with Quality Assurance to check progress of your NQT against the National Standards. If at any point there are concerns regarding the development of your NQT, support will be offered from either an outstanding teacher or an SLE who will work alongside your member of staff.
