Linwood TSA recognises the value of leading practitioner enquiry and action research as part of the wider initiative for Teaching School Alliances to be at the forefront of developments in Teaching and Learning, Leadership and School Improvement.
We have engaged with the Expansive Education Network (EEN) (www.expansiveeducation.net) as a partner in promoting our Research & Development. EEN aims to provide opportunities for training, sharing expertise and wider dissemination of successful case studies and provide a forum for networking between teaching school leaders and teachers, so they can learn from and with each other. We are also working with our higher education institution (HEI) partner (the University of Winchester) and in local sub-regional networks.
Our Research Hub has been established to:
- undertake research and development projects within our alliance to identify and/or help tackle key school improvement priorities
- network across the schools within the alliance (and beyond) in order to demonstrate the impact of these practices on pupil progress
- enable dissemination of learning from research including attendance at research and development events and participation in the online community.
In doing so we seek to promote new thinking and practice based upon the evidence of what really works.
