National Leaders of Education (NLEs)

NLEs are outstanding head teachers or principals who, together with the staff in their schools, use their skills and expertise to support schools in challenging circumstances.

Nikki

Nikki St John

Nikki has been Headteacher of St Katharine’s CE Primary School, Bournemouth, for 7 years. As a recently designated NLE, she is keen to establish mutually rewarding partnerships with other schools. Nikki is particularly passionate about the learning culture of the school and developing high standards through trust, relationships and collective efficacy. Various members of staff at St Katharine’s have worked with others schools locally in a range of areas including Early Years, English, Maths, PE and Science and are well-placed to support schools’ learning journeys and development.

Simon Brown

Simon is the Headteacher of Victoria Education Centre, an outstanding special school in Poole, Dorset offering specialised, high quality education, therapy and care for young people aged 3-19. The school is currently providing support to several schools across a range of Local Authorities. Simon is driven and focused on building whole school systems and strategies that underpin successful schools. Developing staff and distributing leadership enables him to grow strong teams across a school, improving communication, expectations and raising standards. Simon is also an Ofsted Inspector.
